In this morning's T-U Bob Croce reports that the field for the 1995 RPI
Invitational a/k/a the MARINE MIDLAND tournament have been lined up with
Clarkson and Providence set to go for next Xmas. Interestingly Croce didn't
have the fourth participant which, as Jason Moy has confirmed, will be Lake
Superior State. Croce also makes a case for moving the tournament to the
Knickerbocker Arena, but I personally doubt you will see that happening unless
Marine Midland makes a concerted push or the Fieldhouse is packed for the next
two nights' events. Neither scenario is plausible to me.

Croce's column also gives the current run-down for the ECAC vs. Hockey East
head-to-head, with the ECAC maintaining a 14-12 advantage after Princeton's
victory over Maine. The ECAC is also 6-2-2 against the CCHA and 1-1 against
the WCHA.

It's great to see the increased emphasis on inter-league play between Hockey
East, the ECAC and the CCHA. If only the WCHA would cut back on its
intra-league play and schedule some out-of-conference games! IMHO, of course.
