The College Hockey Discussion List Poll for December 8, 1994:

Sorry this is late -- I was out sick yesterday. But it's good to know that
people missed it!

Teams were given 15 points for a first-place vote, 14 for a second-place
vote, and so on down to 1 point for a fifteenth-place vote. Total first-
place votes are in parentheses.

Maine takes the top spot again, but Colorado College has narrowed the gap
considerably from last week. There finally seems to be a consensus as to
who the top teams are; there were only seven "other teams receiving votes"
this week, and after Western Michigan (only eight points behind #15
Wisconsin), there was a huge dropoff.

I added a new column to the composite poll this week, called "Most
Frequent." This column indicates the spot at which the largest number of
voters placed that particular team (the mode, or most frequent value, for
those of you who are statistically minded). The number in parentheses
indicates the number of voters who ranked that team in that spot. As an
example, consider Bowling Green, for which the Most Frequent column says
"7 (13)". This means that 13 of the 34 voters ranked Bowling Green #7 this
week, and that was a higher number than ranked the Falcons at any other
spot. (Note that the range for Bowling Green was 4-11.)

I don't know how interesting the Most Frequent column will be, but I figured
I'd give it a shot. Note that sometimes, there is a tie for Most Frequent
(Brown, Denver, RPI, and Clarkson this week); in that instance, all the
"most frequents" are listed.

     Composite poll (34 responses):

time that's happened in a while), the East and West polls look pretty
similar:

Ken Butler's KRACH ratings make their first appearance in the HOCKEY-L
poll's ratings composite, and KRACH is used along with CHODR to generate the
Tad-rate (see below):

Along with the Tadpoll, this week I'm reviving Tad-rate, which does exactly
the same thing as Tadpoll, except it uses the various ratings (CHODR and
KRACH) as voters, assigning 15 points for each #1 ranking, 14 points for
each #2, etc. Note that the HOCKEY-L poll does NOT figure in Tad-rate.

     Tadpoll: Tad-rate:
