Thanksgiving weekend isn't just big for football...some of the biggest
nonconference matchups of the college hockey season take place over
the next week.
 
Here's a special early-week edition since many folks will probably be
heading various places in the next couple of days and may wish to know
what will be going on this coming weekend.
 
One or more of these games may be on tv in your area.  NESN has
BU-Harvard live Tuesday night at 7 pm ET, and Prime will beam Friday's
LSSU @ Vermont matchup nationally at 7 pm ET.  WABU-68 in New England
(mainly Boston area) will have BU's games in the Great Western Freeze
Out from LA; Friday's BU-Princeton semifinal game will be shown live
at 10 pm ET.  That sets up a nice post-Turkey Day doubleheader for
folks in NE.  BU then plays in the consolation or championship game of
the GWFO on Sunday either late afternoon or early evening (WABU-68)
against either Maine or Notre Dame.  If BU meets Maine, it will be the
first of three straight BU-Maine games in 7 days (12/2-3 in Orono).
 
Many people elsewhere will get the great matchups from the College
Hockey Showcase (don't have tv info on hand, but check your listings)
involving four of the better teams in the country - Michigan, MSU,
Wisconsin, and host Minnesota.  In fact, the CHS (also known as the
CCHA/WCHA Challenge) may be the best tournament this year in terms of
quality of competition.
