Regarding rumors that had Merrimack coach Ron Anderson headed to
Northeastern to replace Don McKenney, word from MC SID Jim Seavey is, and
I quote, "Ron's not going anywhere." Considering that these rumors were
started by the people at Northeastern, it's safe to say that Anderson will
be back at Merrimack next year. I didn't see where it would be such a
big step up for Anderson anyway; it's another HE team, and he has the
opportunity to make a bigger name for himself by completing the process
of taking Merrimack from DivII to a DivI championship contender. I get
the feeling that's what he wants now more than anything - to see Merrimack
win a HE title and a national title under his guidance. The fact that
within the past two years he has been considered for both the Northeastern
and BU jobs (when Parker resigned to become AD and then changed his mind
two weeks later) indicates how well he is respected by hockey people.

Thanks to everyone who has posted their recruits so far; official news on
Merrimack's recruits will be available next week. Jim had to take a vow
of silence from Anderson so I don't even know anything. But he says the
news is very, very good. I had thought the top recruit was Matt Adams of
Andover, MA and Pingree Academy (this has already been publicly announced).
Adams' home is a mile and a half from Merrimack. He led Pingree with 49
goals and 35 assists for 84 points in 26 games, and added six goals and 10
assists for 16 points in four games in the 14th annual Hockey Night in
Boston tourney where he was named MVP. The 5-11, 170-pound Adams was cut
from New England prep power Belmont Hill as a sophomore because he was too
small; he transferred to Pingree and in the meantime grew some 5-6 inches
and added 30-40 pounds. He's currently playing in Chicago for Team
Massachusetts - a club for which nearly 200 of the best players in the
    state tried out.
