I'm a new subscriber and have been following the list for a
few weeks now. My primary interest is in Hockey East but have
found the info coming from other corners of the college hockey
world expanding my horizons. I was also glad to finally see
something today re: the vacancy at PC since most winter weekends
you'll find my fanny at Schneider Arena one night or the other,
and I had yet to see anything on this particular subject. Thanks
        Ron and Mike.

        My two cents:
I was told weeks before Mike McShane announced his "resignation"
that the Friars were pursuing Tim Army very seriously, but that
despite his ties to the area (being from E. Providence,) it was
not likely to happen because of the big difference in $$$$$.
(Life in the NHL does have its benefits.) I never heard any
other candidates name mentioned although Kurt Kleinendorst's should
have been. If Lou Lamoriello does have any input - and he might
since he still stops in at PC from time to time, Kurt could
have got a mention, being one of the cornerstone's of the team
        during the Lamoriello era.

As far as Steve Stirling returning, my recollection is he
returned to Babson simply because of the AD responsibilities
being added to sweeten the pot. It seems unlikely to me that
he would have gotten serious consideration at PC where hoops
is king. (Lou L. was the exception - he was a grad and I don't
think had ever left the school.) AD John Marinatto has already
shown he is not opposed to rehiring a former coach (ie. Rick Pitino)
but whether Stirling is back in the mix or even interested I
        couldn't say.

Hope this adds to the discussion.
