Keith Instone writes (in reference to comments by Minnesota coach Doug Woog):

I have no intention of defending coach Woog's comments, but I must point out
that Minnesota's three toughest games, against the Canadian National Team (2)
and Dynamo Riga, did not count in determining the NCAA seedings. I must
admit that I am puzzled as to why Minnesota did not play at least one game
against a CCHA opponent, but I am not sure if it is a matter of Minnesota
being unwilling to play CCHA teams, or the other way around.
