The way I have seen and heard it reported, Tory took some courses in
high school on a pass/fail grading scale. The Bangor Daily News report-
ed a while back that most colleges interpret passes as C-'s. And be-
cause the NCAA doesn't recognize pluses or minuses, Maine interpreted
the pass mark as a solid C.
