The RPI engineers faced off tonight against UNH in the Houston Field House.
The entire game was poorly played, ending in a 6-3 victory for UNH. The most
important fact about this game is that RPI only managed three (yes I did say
three) shots on goal in the second period. Other than a short period of time
in the third period did RPI put any pressure on UNH, when they rallied from
4-1 to 4-3 in a matter of minutes. The game was typified by both teams
playing sloppily, and most of the goals were the result of defensive letdowns.

RPI tallied first during the first period, scoring on what appeared to be a
"weak" goal. The puck barely dribbled over the UNH keeper during a scramble
in front of the net. UNH then struck back by scoring two goals before the end
of the period, one of them shorthanded. The second period saw UNH score
another shorthanded goal in addition to a pretty passing play to leave UNH
leading 4-1 after two. RPI players seemed to be lazy, being out hustled on
both ends of the ice. RPI then countered by drawing within one goal 4-3. UNH
then scored to make it 5-3 after which they scored an empty netter to finalize
the scoring.

NOTES: UNH seemed to capitalize on nearly every 2 on 1 or 3 on 2 break they
had. They passed excellently and finished off any opportunities granted them.
RPI, on the other hand, committed many passing errors and showed a general
lack of hustle and "grind".
