Independent Mankato State, will be the No. 10 seed in the WCHA playoffs
regardless of how it fares the rest of the season, the league announced.
 
Alaska Anchorage goalie Doug Teske set a school record with his fifth
shutout (and third this season) in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Mankato
State.
 
Wisconsin's 16-game league record (12-3-1) and 11-game unbeaten streak
(10-0-1) are the best in coach Jeff Sauer's 16 seasons.
 
Friday's crowd of 7,758 in Colorado College's new home, the World Arena,
was the largest to attend an indoor sports event in Colorado Springs.
 
Last year's Hobey Baker Award runner-up, Boston University center Chris
Drury, set a school record with his 99th career goal in a victory over
Maine.
 
Maine, which was swept by BU, has lost four consecutive for the first
time in eight seasons.
 
Massachusetts-Lowell debuts in its new 6,496-seat Tsongas Arena tonight
against Dartmouth.
