Exactly. A poster earlier today, remarked how even the Maine/Vermont game
was, and talked in a tone that seemed to say that Maine was "lucky", but the
poster totally forgot the UML/UVM game. This game was very evenly played by
my perspective. This game could have gone either way as well as the
Maine/Vermont contest. Fillion played a very good game, no doubt about it.
He did NOT play as well against UNH, but in the third period when UML
slaughtered UNH, he held the door shut on the other end.

Heh.. that was quite a statement wasn't it? Perhaps I should have phrased
the impression UML made on me differently. I was more referring to UML
gaining home ice in Hockey East that year, rather than the NCAA run. This
team has a legitimate shot at home ice this year.

Like Dave, even after seeing them, I'm not sure I'd put them in the top 10
yet either, but they have a great start, and great confidence I'm sure.
They host Maine in two weeks, that will be a good measuring stick. Could
they beat Maine at all, sweep the series? Time will tell. UML's toughest
tests are still ahead of them for sure.

So.. I'd say the jury is still out on "how" good UML is.. but they are a
good, solid team.. at least the way they played this weekend. They look as
if they can compete with anyone, but can they beat them? Ask Mike and
Merrimack about how that is like. That is the big test of how much a team
is maturing. Time will tell, but I think Lowell fans have cause to be excited.
