This was about the best game I have seen all season. UND and CC had an
epic battle here in North Dakota Friday night (2/10/95).
Colorado College deserves a lot of respect. The CC forwards must have
wings, becuase they sure can fly. The goaltender is unbelievable also.
The difference in this game was the physical play. The Sioux totally
dominated with hard hits. Colorado College must be a finesse team,
becuase they had trouble with the physical play. Another reason for the
Colorado College loss was maybe a little ego. When UND traveled to
Colorado earier this season, the Sioux lost twice, 8-2, and 6-0. Coming
into this game, they may have thought this would be an easy two points.
The Sioux seem hungrier than Colorado College
The only fault I found with Colorado College was the number of dives they
took. Don't get me wrong, I believe that Colorado College is a very good
team, and every team takes dives to draw penalities. It just seemed that
Colorado College seemed to know they were in trouble, and several players
took dives for the refs. Maybe Jeff will have some comments on this.
Overall, it was a great game, and tonight promises to be a good one also.
