It just amazes me to see the hand that the North Dakota Fighting Sioux have
been dealt in the tournament. A little history...

Last year the WCHA Final Five was played in St. Paul and UND had to play, for
all intents and purposes, a road game against Minnesota in the championship.
This year, the Final Five is in Milwaukee and, of course, Wisconsin makes the
championship game. So, this time UND loses the road game and with it the #1
seed in the west, which deservedly goes to MSU. Now, the Sioux will most
likely AGAIN play a road game against Michigan in Ann Arbor in the second
round of the tournament. Should they make the national semifinals, there is a
strong possibility that they will play ANOTHER road game against BU or BC in
the Fleet Center. I understand that the best team should be able to beat
anybody, but does any other squad have that added burden?

My point? I am a WCHA fan, and I don't think we have much of a chance this
year.
