The Northeastern University Huskies swept this weekend's series
against the Black Bears at Alfond Arena Saturday night at the
University of Maine campus.
 
Jason Melong's slapshot from the Maine blue line halfway through
the second period broke a 1-1 tie and handed Maine its seventh
defeat in 12 games at Alfond this season.
 
With the weekend sweep, the Huskies won the season series against
Maine three games to one.
 
Maine, which entered Saturday night's game tied with New Hampshire
and Northeastern for third place in Hockey East, falls to 7-6-1 in
league and 12-11-1 overall.
 
Northeastern improves to 7-6-3 and 15-6-3 overall.
