Is anyone aware of a Zamboni screen saver? Years ago someone told me about a screen saver where the Zamboni moves around the screen wiping the area clean.

Nice to see some folks respecting Zamboni's trademark by referring to the machine as an "ice
resurfacer." Not only has "Zamboni" seems to have become a generic term, but it's used as a verb
(Zamboni the ice between periods) and an adjective (the Zamboni door).

I think one reason that the number seems small is that, as someone mentioned, they last forever.
And there are several of them that are pretty much entirely consist of parts cannibalized from
others. One rink around here, has several parked behind the rink, with weeds growing around them.
When they need a part, they just take it from one of the hulks.

Anybody else remember the pre-Zamboni days? I vaguely remember a jeep dragging a wooden frame
around the ice. Someone on skates would get dragged along, and lift the frame to deposit the
snow, and it would be scraped off. Then some water would be laid down with what would be best
described as 55 gallon drums on wheels, dragging a big towel to spread the water.
