As has been discussed before, RPI doesn't view Union as their main
rival, saving their invectitudes for Clarkson. And Clarkson prefers to
abhor St. Lawrence instead of Rensselaer, for more obvious reason. In
fact RPI is ecstatic to end up with Union since it means they are
playing the only ECAC team it didn't lose to and they don't have to
travel. If the Dutchmen fans oblige by again pelting the ice with
oranges that could mean another easy goal for the Engineers, and the
pressure of being the favorite rather than the challenger increases the
pressure on the first-time home team. Of course the Engineers have
shown the only way they can win is if their emotions are on the line
(see the Freakout) but perhaps that is another advantage for RPI.

Personal prediction: series goes three games with Union winning the last
one; RPI's shaky goaltending is unable to provide the foundation for a
series win.
