According to the June 30 issue of The Hockey News, the following two CCHA
recruits were listed among the top draft-eligible players. Many other CCHA
recruits will be drafted in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft because they were born in
1977 or 1978 and are not eligible for this year's draft.

Miami University's Randy Robitaille Ottawa (CJHL)
University of Notre Dame's Forrest Karr Wisconsin (USHL)

Former Lake Superior forwards Jim Dowd and Brian Rolston will have their names
engraved on the Stanley Cup following New Jersey's sweep of Detroit. Former
UAF defenseman Shawn Chambers was also member of the Devils. Last year, two
former Western Michigan stars had their names engraved as members of the New
York Rangers. Goalie Glenn Healy and President/General Manager Neil Smith both
played collegiately for the Broncos. When the Edmonton Oilers won following
the 1989-90 season former CCHA stars Joe Murphy (MSU) and Craig Simpson (MSU)
were key members. Brian MacLellan (BGSU) and Jamie Macoun (OSU) were member of
the 1988-89 Calgary Flames Stanley Cup championship team. Mike Krushelnyski
(St. Louis University) and Craig Simpson (MSU) were members of the 1987-88
Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup championship team. Krushelnyski was also member of
the Oilers championship team in 1984-85 and again in 1986-87. Former Bowling
Green defenseman Ken Morrow won four straight Stanley Cup championships with
the New York Islanders (1979-80, 1980-81, 1981-82 and 1982-83) following his
1980 Olympic Gold Medal performance for Team USA.

A number of former CCHA players played on championship teams during the 1994-95
season: Matt Ruchty (BGSU) and Bill Armstrong (WMU) played for the AHL
champion Albany River Rats. The IHL champion Denver Grizzlies had Kip Miller
(MSU) and Jeff Madill (OSU) as their leading scorers. Richmond Renegades of
the ECHL had former Laker blueliner Darrin Wetherill, while the Colonial
League's Thunder Bay Senators had Barry McKinlay (UIC) and Llew Ncwana (BGSU).
The CHL's Wichita Thunder had former Bulldog forward John dePourcq.
