There has been some interesting discussions on the selections. I hate the
tendency in all sports to ignore the importance of the regular season just to
generate more revenue for the playoffs. This is treating the regular season as
"spring training".

Suggestion: each league gets two automatics(one if they are the same team):
regular season champ & playoff champ.
The rest of the field is chosen by the computer ratings of the rest of the
teams.

Even though the league champion already is in,it would be in their interest to
win the playoff also to guarantee one of the byes which are chosen from the 8
automatics from the four leagues.

This year that would have meant Minnesota & CC from the WCHA. Wisconsin out. I
could have lived with that - and that coming from a die hard Badger fan.
(Wisconsin would have gotten in because of their high computer rating but that
is not the point) CC should have gotten in automatically and Wisconsin would
have had to sweat the computer ratings and gotten a lower seed because it
hasn't won either the league or the tournament.
