CCHA PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK: Michigan State University senior right wing Shawn
Heaphy has been named CCHA Player-of-the-Week for the week of December 14-15.
Heaphy, a 5-8, 179 lb. native of Sudbury, Ontario, had five goals in the
Michigan State home-and-home sweep of Bowling Green. In Friday's 9-3 Spartan
win in Bowling Green, Heaphy scored two goals with his first goal putting MSU
in front 3-1. He recorded his second hat trick of the season and sixth of his
career in Saturday's 4-2 victory in East Lansing. Heaphy's first goal snapped
a 1-1 tie midway through the second period while his second marker proved to
be the game-winner. He completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal.
This is the first time in his collegiate career Heaphy has been named CCHA
Player-Of-The-Week.

NOTES
Bulldogs continue torrid pace: Ferris State has compiled an 11-0-2 record
since a 3-2 overtime loss at Michigan on November 2nd. Senior center John
dePourcq moved into sixth place on the FSU all-time assist charts with four
assists this past weekend vs. Ohio State. DePourcq has 104 career assists
while Paul Lowden ('83-87) is fifth with 107.
Libertucci's unbeaten streak snapped at 12: Bowling Green sophomore netminder
Angelo Libertucci's personal 12-game unbeaten streak ended Friday as Bowling
Green lost to visiting Michigan State 9-3. Libertucci had recorded an 11-0-1
mark since the opening weekend of the season.
Madeley stands tall during late-game pressure: Lake Superior sophomore goal-
tender Darrin Madeley stopped 14 of 15 Michigan shots in the third period
Friday including 23 of the last 24 over the final 40 minutes. In Saturday's
contest, Madeley turned aside all 13 Michigan shots during the third period
and overtime.
Redskins winless streak ends: Miami University broke a 13-game winless streak
with a 4-1 victory over visiting UIC Friday. The Redskins were 0-11-2 in the
last 13 games with their last win coming October 26th at Ferris State, 6-4.
Woolley's point-streak at 11 games: Michigan State junior blueliner Jason
Woolley has a 13-game point streak entering this week's action for the
Spartans in the Great Western Freeze-Out. Woolley has four goals and 13
assists for 17 points during the streak.
Ohio State offense equals wins: With goaltender Mike Bales seeing an average
of 37.5 shots per game, the Buckeyes have a 1-9-1 record when allowing four or
more goals. However, when OSU has scored five or more goals they are 5-0-1.
FSU's Taylor maintains goal scoring consistency: Bulldog senior left wing Rod
Taylor scored four goals (two each night) and added three assists in the FSU
sweep of Ohio State. In fact, Taylor had the game-winner each night and he
now has 22 goals this year to tie Michigan's Denny Felsner for the national
lead in goals.
Judson and Dunlap click on special teams: UIC junior Rick Judson and senior
Dominic Dunlap, after being held without a point on Friday, each scored two
goals (all on special teams) as the Flames tied host Miami 6-6. Dunlap scored
the first goal of the game on a power play, and following three straight Miami
goals, Dunlap tallied a shorthanded marker. Judson lit the lamp for two power
play goals, one in the second period and the game-tying goal in the final
period.
