I just caught a nice interview of Jack Packer on the Dale and Holley Show on WEEI radio. I don't remember things well so I hesitate to try and report on it but...

He mentioned that the reason he called the timeout after the TV time out was because he was being indecisive.

He said that he knows that ESPN's Melrose has been saying that BU had the most talent but he feels that all the teams at that level have talent and it isn't just talent that wins the game.

He said that when it was 3-1 he didn't think they had a good chance but when they scored at 59 seconds he thougth they did.

He felt the momentum was with them in the overtime but that doesn't necessarily guarentee a win.

I heard him say in another interview that he had to calm them down during that intermission because they were so thrilled about what they had done to tie the game that they were acting like they had already owon. He reminded them to calm down and focus on the overtime.

When talking about Matt Gilroy he said that BU tried to convince him not to come to BU. They didn't think he was that good and they had enough forwards. Parker said he matured into his growth spurt right before he got to BU and was a surprise to them. Gilroy was determined to go to BU even if he had to play defense.

There was more I wanted to mention but of course it has left my brain. I think you might find the interview on weei.com since they often post such interviews.

BU is having a duckboat parade at noon today. The parade will be going down 3 blocks of Commonwealth Ave. I don't know if people outside the Boston area know about the duckboat parades. When the Red Sox won the World Series they had a parade in duckboats (used to take tourists around Boston) that even went into the river. The Patriots have used the boats too. Parker did mention that it was only three blocks and they wouldn't be going into the water.

It was great to see folks in DC. I, too, wish that more people would come to the dinner. I really enjoy hearing different people anazlye the games and meeting the face that goes with the posts.. I am sad to see the hockey season end.
