Freshman Shawn Roed has quit the Gophers team.
 
He had been on suspension for the last two weeks to
pay more attention to his schoolwork.
 
He has said that he intends to play in the major junior leagues.
 
This is a great loss for the Gophers as Roed had been on the
most productive line with captain Nate Miller and John Pohl.
