Looking at admissions instead of financial aid does indeed open up a new
discussion thread. We could even re-visit the academic index requirement of
the ECAC if we really get into it.
But Greg Berge says that an outstanding hockey player with SAT's of
510/470 can probably not gain admission to a D1 school where the means are
on the order of 640/600. Well, excuse me ... but right there I fall of the
sled -- uno-what over tea kettle. Not only do I think that happens, I think
it happens A LOT. And you can raise those means to 690/650 if you want.
That happens a lot too. Even in the ECAC. C'mon, Greg, wake up and smell
the coffee.:-):-)
Btw, how do you think Gee-Dubya got into Yale with his SAT's if it weren't
for his "special qualities"? Heck, I looked at his scores and wondered why
*I* hadn't applied there:-):-) (No, not *really*.)
