The University of Findlay began their first varsity season this weekend
at the Fredonia State Tournament. UF drew Fredonia for their first game
ever and ended up with a respectable 2-1 loss. Fredonia went up 1-0 in
the first minute of play and then made it 2-0 with 3 minutes remaining
in the second. Coach Barnett pulled his netminder with 1:32 left in the
third and the Oilers scored to make it 2-1 and that's the way it ended.

In Saturday's consolation game, UF played Niagara (a 3-1 loser to
Mercyhurst on Fri.) and was handed a 6-1 loss. Niagara took advantage of
some Oiler penalties and scored 5 powerplay goals.
