Norm Cherry was a freshman at Wisconsin in 1969.
He played on a line with Tim Dool and Lloyd (Max) Bentley. They called it
the Freshman Line, and they went to the NCAA Tournament in Lake Placid that
season.
Norm probably did score a shorthanded hat trick (he and Dool were a great PK
team), but it wasn't in 1977!

Norm Cherrey had a shorthanded hat trick for Wisconsin in the late 70s...
1977 I believe, against Duluth.
