The University of Denver scored its' first home ice victory of the season
>Friday night by defeating the Golden Knights of Clarkson. This win was made
>more sweet by the fact it came at Homecoming and at the begining of the last
>season in the old Blimp Hanger on the DU campus.
>   The scoring all came in the first 2 periods. Clarkson rolled up a 2 goal
>leed in the first, while Denver blasted 4 unanswered goals in the 2nd.
>Goaltender Wallinheimo for Denver was spectacular throughout. He made the
>kind of saves neccessary to give the Freshman class enough time and
>confidence to turn on the rockets and blow Clarkson away. With the injury to
>Goaltender Jim Mullin last week, Wallinheimo will have to carry the Denver
>Team for the next few weeks.
>   We have all heard that there is a fundamental differance between WCHA and
>the other divisions, Denver's record against non-league opponents would seem
