All of the college hockey games I have attended have been in the
East (Boston Garden for Nationals and ECACs back in the old days,
Worcester for last year's Eastern Regionals and, of course,
countless games at Brown Rink cheering the beloved Terriers --
whose fans, as you all know, can be quite partisan). I have
never seen large numbers of fans from any school throw things on
the ice, or at the players, even in the days when we had the
bitterest of rivalries with Cornell, when BU and Cornell were
both in the ECAC. I expect that the Minnesota-North Dakota game
I read about this morning was an aberration, and I hope it will
stay that way. Otherwise, I might as well go to Yankee Stadium.
