Well, if you want to go back to the original teams, the WCHA gets Michigan,
Mich. State, and Michigan Tech back.  These three teams were in the league in
1951-52 when it was the Midwest Collegiate Hockey League.  Notre Dame joined the
WCHA in 71-72 and it wasn't until the 1981-82 season that those four teams
"bolted" to the CCHA.  Not only that, but MTU took the McNaughton cup with them,
one of the greatest trophies in sport, IMHO, and started giving it to the CCHA's
regular season champion, but that's another post.  MTU came back in 1984-85,
bringing NMU with them into the WCHA.
 
Sorry, I just had to give a history lesson today!
