UAF completed the sweep of U-Mass by posting a 8-0 win last night at the
Carlson Center in Fairbanks. Soph. goalie Larry Moberg got the shut out
while Dean Fedorchuk had his 30th & 31st goals of the season. He now has 51 points on the season (31/20/51). Tavis MacMillian had 2 assists on the night to
give him (14/35/49) points.
   U-Mass works hard, and has a class coach in Joe Mallin, but will need some
front line players to compete in Hockey East. I do like their new jersey
design though. It is unique.
   UAF is not scheduled to play providence next season. UAF Coach Dave Laurion
is still looking for games however, and wnats to play in a tournament over
Christmas break, but no luck so far as all tourney fields seem to be filled.
   After Christmas break UAF travels to Air Force (Jan.13/14) hosts Merrimack
Jan.20/21) then travels to Bowling Green ( Feb. 3/4). That is it for games!
Who the Nanooks play other than those three teams is your guess as the WCHA,
 and  CCHA are booked every weekend(league play) probably H.E. and ECAC also.
U-Mass, Air Force, Army, are also booked. Playing Div.III teams or Canadian
teams is getting OLD for the UAF fans as 10-2 games are not helping the
UAF program to continue to grow. That is why UAF needs in a league ASAP!
   Look form them to formally apply to the CCHA and maybe the WCHA this spring
Then watch the finger pointing as both leagues probably try to avoid taking
them in. Stay tuned.
   UAF vs Denver this Friday Jan 28th on Prime Netwoks "College Game of the
Week" 7:00 pm Denver time. This game should be on all Prime Affiliates, as
well as NESN etc.,etc., Any Bar with a Sat. dish will get it also.
