Eastern Michigan U. 2 at UF 6

The University of Findlay Oilers continued their first season of varsity
status with a 6-2 win over ACHA Division I EMU last night in front of a
near capacity crowd (700) in Findlay.

UF lead 2-0 after the first period. EMU made it 2-1 early in the second
and then went on a 5 on 3 power play. Dusty Monasmith (Sylvania, OH)
then took the puck and went the entire length of the ice to score a
shorthanded goal making it 3-1 for the Oilers. This proved to be the
turning point as the Oilers never looked back leading 4-2 after two, and
adding 2 more goals in the third winning the hard fought, physical game
6-2.

The win improves UF's overall record to 3-3 (wins vs. Brockport, Kent
State, Eastern Mich, loses vs. Fredonia, Niagara, Cortland). Goal
scorers for the Oilers were Dusty Monasmith (Sylvania, OH) with 2, Jeff
Roncone (Rochester, NY) with 2, Dave Bell (Oak Lawn, IL), Larry Amsden
(N. St. Paul, MN). Jason Koomen (Fruitvale, B.C.) made 27 saves for the
victory.
