Although it seems anti-climatic now, here are the results of
the poll I conducted. Results were sparse and the controversy
seemed to die down after 3-4 days, like most do (remember
handshakes). But a few of the responses were worth mentioning.

Yes-6
No-3

Actually, the 3 negative responses weren't really saying
that the NC** was equitable just that other things should
be taken into consideration.

IF IT WERE FINANCIALLY FEASIBLE, WOULD YOU VOTE IN FAVOR
OF COLLEGE HOCKEY'S SECESSION FROM THE NCAA?

Adam Bryant suggests:
>...I liked the suggestions about the
>"international" name since I see no reason why Canadian
>colleges cannot be included.

I suggested:
>I'd like to see an attempt at NC** reform before secession
>is seriously considered but if our cries fall upon deaf ears
>then I think we could proceed. I'd like to see each Div. I
>program be given 1 vote at the NC** convention and whenever an
>issue comes up that affects a certain sport, everyone can participate
>in discussion but only those reps from that sport could vote.
>IF a proposition that affected the NC** as a whole, then
>all reps could vote. Perhaps (definitely), this would
>be more equitable.

Larry Haag asks:
>Do "Division I" schools that have Div-I hockey but don't have
>Div-I football or basketball share in the money generated from
>NC** football and basketball? Profit sharing in general, is a
>good idea. The entire Rochester community looks forward to March
>because the bonus money Kodak pays employees puts a big
>plug into the local economy...I say that if a school contributes
>something, they should be able to get something back, regardless
>of their classification. It looks like the money may not
>be distributed fairly, but if the answer to my question is yes,
>then some hockey programs shouldn't complain about this issue...

BTW-I'm not being sarcastic, I just don't know: could someone name
a few "Division I" schools with Div. I hockey but not Div. I
grid or hoops.

"We are not in a recession."
---President George Bush (but is he really our leader?)

PS- For some reason I can't mail anything to Eric Rickin or anyone
else at CLeveland so could Eric mail me and tell me why he likes
the Seattle T'birds (i.e. did you live there or something)?
