Perhaps Lake State inherited their winning ways from Michigan Tech since
it was originally the Sault Ste. Marie branch of the Michigan Mining
and Technological University (I believe that's the title).  Anyway,
it was "Sault Tech" for short, until it became a four year school in
the 60's.
