Two sets of numbers that really jumped out at me that I wonder if someone (or

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it somewhat weird that a team leads the
conference in penalty minutes (and thus shorthanded situations) and has such a
HUGE gap over anyone else in the conference in terms of power play oppor-
tunities? (I'm looking at conference numbers only.)

Can someone clarify what kind of penalties BU usually draws from the opponents?
Usually IMO when one team is faster than another, you'll see a lot of holds,
hooks, trips, etc. (the "non-violent" penalties) vs. cross-checks and roughs
(the "violent" ones).

Another number that jumped out (with a little subtraction on my part): Maine
and Lowell have had almost as many power plays in non-conference games as they
have in conference, while BU has drawn relatively few in its non-conference
action. But if you look at it, if the numbers are correct, BU is 18-29 on
non-conference power plays, for a 62% success ratio. Does that sound about
right? If so, it's phenomenal.

Three of their last four wins at Breslin have come on last-second shots.) who
the hell knows when?
