Colorado College exploded today with 6 unanswered goals to beat Denver
7-3 this afternoon. DU got on the board first about 2 minutes into the
game, but R.J. Enga scored a short-handed goal a few minutes later to
even it up. CC scored again later to go into the first intermission up
2-1. The Tigers widened their lead to 6-1 in the second before DU got
another goal. After CC's 6th goal, Mullin was replaced by Wallinheimo
for the rest of the second period. DU got a short-handed goal early in
the third, which began to worry Tiger fans, but with 12 minutes to go,
CC scored again and held onto the lead for the win. Scoring for CC this
afternoon were R.J. Enga (2), Colin Schmidt, Chad Remackel, Jay McNeill (2),
and Peter Geronazzo. There were a few altercations on the ice, including
one in the second period that gave double roughings to 4 players, including
DU goaltender Mullin, but it wasn't as bad as I've sometimes seen with
this rivalry. Most of the time people kept their cool, and the refs were
there to step in between any potential skirmishes.

CC now has third place in the WCHA to themselves. Next up is a road trip
next weekend to St. Cloud for the Tigers.
