I don't think that anyone ever said anything definitive about it, but
I finally remembered to check a record book last night.  Brian Lawton
was born in New Brunswick, NJ but played High School Hockey at Mount
St. Charles in Rhode Island.
 
There has recently been much discussion about Frank Anzalone and what
he has been doing since he left LSSU.  Somewhere in a little used
portion of my brain, I remember that he played amateur hockey before
going to New Hampshire with one of both of the Mullen brothers in New
York (Joe and Brian).  Does anyone know if this is true?  (Obligatory
college hockey content re Mullen:  Joe and Brian Mullen played college
hockey at BC and I think Wisconsin, can't remember which was which).
