The year was 1986-87, BTW. The reason the AHL stopped it is because
the coaches didn't like it. The fans loved it, though. It also made
Paul Stewart a villain in Glens Falls (another story) but he went
on to being a villain in bigger and better (well, bigger, at least)
cities.
