How is divisional play going to turn the WCHA into a top-heavy league?
Teams would still be playing outside their division. I don't remember
how the playoffs would work under the proposal, but I don't think that
it would make the regular season any less meaningless than it is now.

Uhhh, the proposal would have non-divisional opponents playing twice, at
least. If teams played twice, then (to use your example) NMU would go to
Madison once and UW would go to Lakeview once. Where is it written that
conference members must play each other four times? The ECAC only plays a home-
and home. The CCHA, and HE beginning in 94/95, only play each other three
times.

Wait a second. Is your objection to UAF joining the WCHA or anyone joining
the WCHA? The NC$$ mandates a maximum number of games a team can play, so the
WCHA would have to adjust its scheduling to accomodate _any_ team, or pair of
teams, coming in. The WCHA schedule is as big as it can get. Adding any more
games would not allow AK-Anchorage to play any out-of-conference games, and
that would be unfair.

See you later,
John
