Jason Weinrich, a University of Maine defenseman, will be sidelined
for four to six weeks, it was reported in Thursday's edition of the
Bangor Daily News.
 
Weinrich, a senior from Gardiner, Maine, sustained an injury to his
right knee during a practice. Head coach Shawn Walsh said Weinrich
suffered a "torn posterior cruciate ligament during a fluke acci-
dent.
 
Weinrich said he was standing in front of the net when teammate
Justin Tomberlin fell on the side of his leg.
 
According to the article, Weinrich's injury won't require surgery.
