Right on!  The problem is compounded when ambiguous abbreviations are
used.  For instance I frequently see CU (Clarkson?  Colgate?  Cornell?),
UM (Michigan?  Minnesota?) or ND (Notre Dame?  North Dakota?), etc..
When I hear Clarkson students refer to our school as CU, I wonder if
they really believe we are the only CU around.  In almost all cases I can
figure it out from the context of the note, but many times I'm just
interested in knowing who beat whom and I actually don't want to have
to read the entire posting to determine what teams are being referred to.
