I was wondering down memory lane trying to figure out when I joined up. I
think it was probably in 1992 for the 1992-93 season. I saw that my first
post was in March 1993. My second post being an attempt to sell some
tickets.
I was looking on my PC to see if there was any other evidence. I found an
old note from Keith Instone. It brought up an age old flame war inducing
topic for computer geeks. I had to laugh.
"That is a problem with vi. If you use emacs, for example, then all would be
well."
Thanks for the memories,
Doug Peterson

Happy Birthday, Hockey-L!
It was April 27th, 1990 when the half-year-old "College_Hockey"
distribution list came to Maine and was christened "Hockey-L".
I've been pleased (most years!) to host the group for those 19 years and
look forward to another resurgent season in 2009-2010.
Special thanks go to our list administrator, Bill Fenwick
([log in to unmask]) and the group instigator, some 21 years ago,
Mike Machnik!
To find posts about Hockey-L written on other birthdays, go to
