    Note: The Gopher defensemen on the '76 squad were: senior Brad Morrow,
juniors Joe Micheletti and Anderson, sophomores Reed Larson, Robin Larson
and Jim Boo, and freshman Bill Baker.

    O.K., perhaps Russ Anderson wasn't a spare (I'll leave that to Gopher
hockey historians, but it does makes the story better if he wasn't a key
player).... let's just call him a 'special purpose defenseman'.
