[Dartmouth]Men's Hockey Defeats Union, 3-2

HANOVER, N.H. — Kent Gillings scored a pair of power play goals to lead the
Dartmouth Big Green to a come-from-behind, 3-2, victory against the Union
Skating Dutchmen in men's ECAC hockey action on Saturday night at Thompson
Arena.
The Big Green (10-8-4, 7-4-4 ECAC) scored all three of its goals in a span of
2:15 in the third period to earse a 2-0 Union lead.
Lee Stempniak netted the eventual gamewinner when he fired a shot past the
glove of Dutchmen goaltender Brandon Snee at the 6:41 mark of the third.
Gillings scored both his power play goals off scrambles in front of the Union
goal. Mike Maturo assisted on both of Gillings' goals.
Trevor Byrne and Pete Summerfelt each picked up an assist on the two man
advantage markers.
Union (11-8-5, 6-6-2 ECAC) took a 1-0 lead in the first period when Jeff
Wilson stole a puck at the blueline and snapped a shot over Dartmouth goalie
Nick Boucher's shoulder.
Charles Simard extended the lead to two when he fired a shot off a face-off
past the glove of Boucher midway through the second period.
Joel Beal, Max Seel and Seamus Galligan had assists for the Skating Dutchmen.
Snee had 44 saves for Union while Boucher stopped 35 shots for the Big Green.

loss drops Union into 6th place in the ECAC, one point behind Colgate. Union
remains two points behind Clarkson and are just two points ahead of three
other squads.

The Dutchmen entertain Clarkson and St. Lawrence at Achilles next weekend.
