Summary:

Harvard earned their 1000th win by a score of 7-3 over visiting Union.
Union didn't play all that badly, but did take some bad penalties, and
that was enough to cost them the game.

Despite being outplayed in the period, Union found themselves tied
after one period. Harvard opened up a 4-1 lead midway through the
2nd, when Union scored 2 goals in 30 seconds to get back to within 1,
at 4-3. From then on, it was all Harvard. 2 more goals in the 2nd
made it 6-3 Harvard. Union was outshot 24-8 in the period, and 46-23
for the game. Harvard added another power play goal, their 4th of the
night, late in the 3rd.

Union falls to 1-12-1 in the ECAC, 2-14-1 overall. They remain in
11th place, but that 10th and final playoff spot is getting farther
away with each game. Harvard improves to 10-1-3 (10-3-3) good for
sole possesion of first place following Vermont's upset sweep of
Clarkson and SLU. Union looks for a few points this weekend when they
host Vermont and Dartmouth. Friday's game against Vermont starts at
7:30 and Saturday's game against Dartmouth starts at 7:00.
