Of the 44 teams who are eligible for the NCAA Div I tournament, all but 8
participate in Conference tournaments (6 teams in conferences {1 HE, 2 ECAC,
3 CCHA}, plus Independents Army and Air Force).  Of the 8 teams who's
seasons are over, Union finished with a win; the other 7 lost.  Since each
conference tournament includes a 3rd place game, it is possible for up to
four more teams to win their last game (i.e., win the 3rd place game, but
not get invited to the NCAAs).  This year, the places to look for that
occurrence are the WCHA and ECAC, but with upsets, maybe more.
