Amen David!!  Truth is no one conference can claim superiority until the
experiment is done,yearly... and that is to arrange a decent percentage of
games outside of league play.... ECAC and HE do it and to some extent the
CCHA but, for a variety of reasons, the WCHA does not .... so we are stuck
and I think arguing about something that cannot be proved inwords ....
comparison scores don't work .... try some of RPI's!
 
On a similar topic, I feel one of the reason for so much 0.500 ness is
that a lot of league games are played backto back... IMHO it is easy to
split that way ... you see a team on Fri, say play a close loss, then
adjust and come back for a close win .... in other leagues, eg the ECAC,
the weekend opponents are different, say SLU followed by Clarkson ... much
harder to adjust in 24 hrs to a different team ...and then you may not
play them each again for a month or two .... and the team character may
have changed with injuries, academic eligibility probs, etc.
