I decided to cover all 3 of these in one message. Why? Because it is
Friday, one of the two biggest college hockey days of the week. Just
like our teams with the NC$$ limit :-), HOCKEY-L has a limit on the
number of messages that can go out each day, and I am trying to be
extra careful about not contributing to hitting that limit before we
get to see all of the results from around the country in the late
evening.

SUBJ: Schedule query

On the other hand, most of the CCHA schools will host a Canadian team
early in the season and count it in their records but take the
exemption.

WCHA teams tend to host touring European teams and take an exemption
for that, calling it an EX.

You cannot use the "foreign team" rule in both cases.

The rule reads:

17.10.5.3 Annual Exemptions. The maximum number of ice hockey contests
  shall exclude the following:
...
  k) Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico - Divisions I and II. Any ice hockey
games played in Hawaii, Alaska or Puerto Rico, respectively, either
against or under the sponsorship of an active member institution located
in Hawaii, Alaska or Puerto Rico, by a Division I or II member institution
  located outside the area in question;

So the answer is...no, but nice try. :-)

This is very possible...the notes I quoted from are written by the
school SIDs and Tim Burton tends to send them out verbatim. I did
some editing and rewording of the material from the notes, which did
say that Breen had a trick - nothing about four goals.

SUBJ: WNDS & UML-UNH tonight

On another note...earlier this week in the Hockey East Update, I
listed tonight's (Fri) UML @ UNH game as scheduled for WNDS-50. I
then did not see the game listed in a tv guide I looked at last night.
I believe that the game that WNDS will be showing is UNH @ UML on
Saturday night. Just wanted to make sure everyone interested was
aware of this.
