This game was last night nightUs game in reverse.
MTU just could not stay with Minnesota tonight. Minnesota consistently
showed more speed and hustle throughout the game but particularly in the
third period. Even Jamie Ram looked slow. This was MTUUs 5th game in
8 days and the team appeared tired. They also have begun to take injuries
which has reduced MTU down to 2 and 1/2 lines.

Comments:

Minnesota struck first at 7:09 in the first when Woog passed from the left board
to McAlpine at the blue line who put a slap shot thru Ram's legs.

In the 2nd, MTU tied the game at 1 on a three on five powerplay with a
pass from the left point by Wright to Ferguson directly in front of the net just
out of the crease. Checko put a hard board check on MTUUs Seale who had the
puck. Checko then took the puck from back of the net into the slot and fire
a shot at Ram. Ram blocked the shot but could not see the puck at his feet.
Bergliat came around the net from the right and knocked it in for a score.
Nielson scored on a one on one breakaway when defending Pat Mikesch fell
at the blue line.

The third period found a Chris McAlpine putting a shot on Ram in the slot which
was blocked. McAlpine followed up with a rebound shot which again was
blocked. However, the third shot on the rebound went pass Ram. At 16:00, as
a 'pull out all stops' move, Jamie Ram was pulled leaving MTU with an empty
net. Woog escaped with the puck to center ice and scored an empty net goal. Ram
went back in. The final score was a powerplay goal that was brought by Bonan
alone into the zone to the right of Ram.

Tech, normally invincable on penalties gave up 3 powerplay goals tonight as
Minnesota outskated the MTU team. The tale of the game was a tired MTU team
with little depth and a very talented Minnesota team.
