While Mike brought up some valid points, I personally would have to disagree
with him. I hope the NHL 'pros' are not added to the Olympic squads. True
pros have played in the past, but not the SuperStars. And that's what we
are talking about here. Halt the NHL season so that the 99s and 66s of the
NHL can play in the Olympics. I want the USA to win the gold medal again,
but would rather watch a team of college stars and a few minor leaguers
represent the US than Lafontaine and company.
I know it sounds sort of foolish, but I like the amatuer nature of it.
Irregardless of what the rest of the world sends, including Canada.
That's one very big reason why I have not watched nor do I want to watch
the 'Dream Team'. The most boring basketball you will every see. I would
have rather seen a team of college stars as in the past.
But that's my personal opinion, which is not logically or rationally based.
