DRYJOWICZ-BUREK EARNS A-A HONORS

GLOUCESTER, MA– Once again, a University of Massachusetts Dartmouth hockey player has received a prestigious honor.

Freshman goaltender Jon Dryjowicz-Burek (Ludlow, MA/Springfield Jr. Falcons) has been named an All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association. Dryjowicz-Burek was named to the NCAA Division III East Second Team.

Dryjowicz-Burek is the second Corsair ever to be named an All-American. Senior forward Eric Frank (Waltham, MA/Traverse City Enforcers) was named second team last year.

Dryjowicz-Burek led Division III with a save percentage of .941, and ranks first in save percentage in all divisions. He ranked third in Division III in goals-against average at 1.73, and was sixth in winning percentage at .773. Dryjowicz-Burek started 23 of the Corsairs’ 30 games and was 17-5-0 with three shutouts. He led the ECAC Northeast in goals-against average, save percentage and winning percentage.

“Jon had a fantastic season, leading the nation in save percentage,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. “From the first game of the season, when he made 34 saves in our win against Lebanon Valley, to the NCAAs, Jon has played very well. He led our team to 25 wins, which equals the most victories for a UMass Dartmouth hockey team in any one season.”
