FOSTER, AIR FORCE DOWN ENGINEERS, 1-0
Falcons win 54th Annual RPI/Bank of America Tournament

Tournament Most Valuable Player Peter Foster made 32 saves and Air Force
was successful on all 11 shorthanded situations in a 1-0 victory over
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in the championship game of the 54th
Annual Rensselaer/Bank of America Holiday Tournament at the Houston Field
House in Troy, N.Y. With the victory, the Falcons capture the oldest
college hockey holiday tournament in the nation for the first time. They
are now 6-4-2 on the season. Rensselaer falls to 7-7-1.

Foster finished with seven saves in the first period, 11 in the second and
14 more in the third to improve to 6-4-2 on the season. He was also
victorious in the first round game, making 32 saves in a 3-2 overtime
victory over Sacred Heart.

Joining Foster on the All-Tournament Team were forwards Jace Buzek of
Robert Morris and Kevin Broad of Rensselaer, defensemen Brooks Turnquist
and Brian Gineo of Air Force and Brad Farynuk of RPI.

After nearly two scoreless periods, Air Force sophomore defenseman Brian
Gineo broke the ice with a power play goal at 18:37 of the second
period. Gineo earned his fourth goal of the season when he knocked in a
rebound of an Andrew Ramsey shot. Brandon Merkosky was also credited with
an assist.

For Rensselaer, which is now 0-7-0 when trailing after two periods, senior
Andrew Martin made 19 saves in defeat.

Rensselaer returns to action on Friday when they play at ECAC Hockey League
foe Brown (7pm). Air Force will host College Hockey America foe Wayne
State next Friday and Saturday nights.
