UPCOMING GAMES:  The #4 St. Cloud State menıs hockey team (19-4-1, 12-4-0
WCHA) will travel to #3 North Dakota (16-5-5, 12-4-2 WCHA) on Jan. 26 and
Jan. 27 for games in Grand Forks, N.D.  SCSU was ranked #4 in the last USA
Today/AHM poll and in the USCHO poll, SCSU was ranked #4 on Jan. 15.  In the
Letıs Play Hockey Poll on Jan. 18, SCSU was ranked #3.  Game time is 7:35
p.m. on Jan. 26 and at 8:35 p.m. on Jan. 27.

THE RESULTS: SCSU hit an all-time program high (at the Division I level) by
winning its ninth consecutive game on Jan. 20, with a 5-4 win over Brown in
St. Cloud. SCSU has now won nine consecutive games, which dates back to a
3-1 loss to Wisconsin on Dec. 8.  For the second consecutive night, Keith
Anderson opened the gameıs scoring for the Huskies with a tally at 4:59 on
the power play.  SCSU padded its lead at 6:07 with a goal by Ritchie Larson
with assists from Brandon Sampair and Tyler Arnason.  Duvie Westcott pushed
the lead to 3-0 with a goal at 11:11 before Brownıs Shane Mudryk scored at
19:24 of the first.  In the second period, Paul Esdale scored at 10:09
before Arnason connected on the power play at 12:17.  To complete the game,
Brown scored once more in the second and Derek Eastman scored on the power
play in the third period for SCSU.  Brown narrowed the gap late with a goal
by Esdale at the buzzer.  In the game, SCSU was 3-of-5 on the power play
while BU was 0-of-5.  SCSU outshot the Bears 33-21 as Scott Meyer and Jake
Moreland combined for goalie win with 17 saves between the pair.  Moreland
(3-1) was credited with the win...on Jan. 19, Anderson opened the game's
scoring at 16:33 of the first with a power play goal.  Brown tied it at
19:39 with an unassisted goal by Tye Korbl to close the first period. In the
second, Nate DiCasmirro pushed it to 2-1 with a power play goal at 11:14.
In the third period, Joe Motzko tallied the game winner for SCSU with a
power play goal at 3:59.  Brown closed the gap to 3-2 with a goal at 4:45 by
Chris Legg before the Huskies' power play deluge continued at 12:24 of the
third when Mark Hartigan scored with an assist from Westcott and Sampair.
On the night, SCSU was an impressive four-of-five on the power play and
Brown was 0-of-6.  SCSU outshot Brown 45-23, which is one shot short of a
season high this year.  In the net, Meyer posted his 16 win of the season
with 21 saves to his credit.

HEAD COACH: SCSU coach Craig Dahl (Pacific Lutheran, 1976) in his 14th
season as head coach for the Huskies.  He is the only coach that SCSU has
had since moving to the NCAA Division I level in 1987-88.  Dahl has a career
record of 248-237-38 at SCSU and a 20-year career coaching mark of
324-325-40.  Dahl won his 300th career game on 2/19/00.  In 1997-98, Dahl
was named the WCHA Coach of the Year.  He has won more games than any SCSU
hockey coach.  In 2000-01, Dahl will be assisted by Doc DelCastillo (SCSU,
1992) in his third season and first year coach Brad Willner (Lake Superior
State, 1995).

ALL-TIME RECORD: The Huskies and Coach Dahl both own a 248-237-38 record
since the program went Division I in 1987-88.  This is the first season that
the Huskies have gone above .500 with their overall record since going
Division I...The Ferris State game on Oct. 13th was the 500th Division I
hockey game in the history of the program at SCSU.  The game was also Dahlıs
500th as a coach at SCSU.

HUSKY BITS:  The Huskies were an impressive 7-of-10 on the power play this
weekend against Brown.  On Jan. 19, SCSU scored four power play goals in a
4-2 win, while they tallied seven power play goals in a 5-4 win on Jan. 20.
In the last six games, SCSU is 15-of-30 on the power play.  On penalty kill,
SCSU was awesome with an 11-of-11 effort this weekend against Brown.  In the
last four games, SCSU is 17-of-17 on the penalty kill.and they have gone 14
consecutive periods since allowing a power play goal.  The last power play
goal the Huskies have allowed was a first period tally against UMD on Jan.
6.  On Jan. 19, SCSU hit a season-high with four pp goals...SCSU was named
the USATODAY.com national team of the week on Jan. 18.  SCSU received its
highest national ranking since going Division I in 1987-88 with a #4 ranking
in both the USCHO and USA TODAY/American Hockey Magazine polls last week.
SCSU was also ranked #3 in the last Let's Play Hockey national poll...The
Huskies tied a team best this season in the second period on Jan. 20 by
limiting Brown to just three shots on goal.  SCSU also hit the season-low
during the first period against Bemidji State on 10/21...SCSU is 6-0-1 in
play against non-conference opponents this season...SCSU (as of Jan. 11) is
third in the nation with a 2.10 GAA rating and 11th with 3.63 goals scored
per game at the Division I level...Scott Meyer is 5th in the nation with a
.934 SV% and seventh with a 2.00 GAA... SCSU is tied for third in the nation
with a .775 win%...SCSU will be busy over the next two weeks playing against
the nationıs top teams.  On Jan. 26-27, SCSU will travel to #3 UND and on
Feb. 2-3, SCSU will host #6 Colorado Colllege...SCSU is now 4-0 in its
all-time series against Brown.

A NEW TEAM RECORD:  The Huskies hit a new team record on Jan. 20 by winning
their ninth consecutive game.  The previous best was seven consecutive wins
set last year from Jan. 14-Feb. 4.  SCSU set a team record with a 10-game
unbeaten streak last year that included two ties during that stretch.

100-POINT CLUB MEMBERS:  Tyler Arnason and Brandon Sampair are both members
of the 100 point club. On Jan. 12, Arnason scored a goal and an assist,
while Sampair had a goal and two assists.  Aranson (46g/59a) and has 13g/12a
this season... Brandon Sampair (42g/63a).  He has 5g/21a this season.
Sampair and Arnason are the 24rd and 25th players in team history (all
Divisions) to reach the 100-point level in their careers.  Both rank 19th in
team history with 105 career points.

GREAT BEGINNINGS:  The Huskies continue their best-ever start in team
history at 19-4-1 overall.  The previous best start over 23-games was a
16-6-2 start in 1997-98.

HOBEY BAKER WATCH: SCSUıs Scott Meyer is gaining favor in USCHOıs Hobey
Baker fan poll.  As of Jan. 22 at 9 a.m., Meyer was fourth in the poll with
3,472 points.  Jeff Panzer of UND led the poll with 4,474 votes.

ON THE RADIO: Husky hockey can be heard on KNSI Radio 1450 AM during the
2000-01 season.  The broadcasts will also be available on the web at
www.1450knsi.com.  Don Lyons will call the play-by-play and former SCSU
All-American Dave Reichel will provide the color commentary for home
games selected games this season will also be broadcast live by KVSC FM
88.1...KNSI AM 1450 will also host the Craig Dahl Show each Monday at 5:05
p.m. during the season.  The show will feature Coach Dahl, SC Times writer
Kevin Allenspach and host Don Lyons.  The show is sponsored by Plaza Park
Bank/Investment Centers of America.

HUSKIES ON TV: A total of 18 Husky home games this season will be televised
live on St. Cloud's Charter Communications cable channel 65 this season.
Charter Communications are also slated to carry the games live on their
systems in Alexandria, Willmar and Little Falls. KSTC channel 45 (Charter
cable channel 17 in St. Cloud) out of the Twin Cities.   Veteran announcer
Wally Shaver will call the play-by-play along with color commentary from
Doug Johnson.  KSTC games slated for this season are Feb. 24 Mankato and
Match 3 Minnesota.

HUSKY AUTOGRAPH DEN:  SCSU fans can obtain autographs in the Husky Autograph
Den after each home game this season.  Players slated to appear in the
autograph den after the game on Feb. 2 are Tyler Arnason and Scott Meyer and
on Feb. 3 are Mark Hartigan and Matt Hendricks.

HUSKIES READING FOR FUN:  Each year the St. Cloud Public Library and the
SCSU hockey teams combine to present the Husky Reading for Fun program.
This popular childrenıs reading program at the St. Cloud Public Library in
downtown St. Cloud, features SCSU players reading books on selected Saturday
mornings prior to SCSU home games.  The program continues on Feb. 3, and it
will feature Scott Meyer and Duvie Westcott.  For more information, please
call the Library at 251-7282.

ABOUT SCSU: The 1999-2000 season marked the 13th year that SCSU has been a
member of NCAA Division I hockey.  SCSU joined the Division I hockey ranks
in 1987-88 and became a member of the WCHA in 1990-91. That first year in
the league, SCSU finished fifth with a 12-16-4 league record and an 18-19-4
overall record. SCSU's highest league finish has been third place, a
standing that was reached in 1996-97 and again in 1999-2000...since going
Division I, SCSU owns a 247-237-38 overall record.

2000-01 TEAM CAPTAINS: The 2000-01 team captain is senior forward Brandon
Sampair (Mahtomedi).  Assistant captains are senior forward Keith Anderson
(Thief River Falls) and senior defenseman Ritchie Larson (Winnipeg, Mant.).

NOTES ABOUT UND:  North Dakota is the defending NCAA Division I
champion...UND owns a two-point lead in the WCHA over SCSU...UND holds an
8-1-1 series lead vs. SCSU in the last 10 games...Jeff Panzer leads the team
from North Dakota with 54 points (20g/34a).  He scored his 200th and 201st
career points on Jan. 20 vs. MSU...Goalie Andy Kollar is 10-1-1 this season
with a 2.57 GAA and a .916 SV%...the first time SCSU and UND played, the
Huskies gained an 8-1 win in 1947...UND has won seven NCAA titles...UND SID
Kelly Sauer is a grad of SCSU and previously served as a graduate assistant
for the Huskiesı Athletic Media Relations team.

TEAM NOTES:  Jon Cullen (8g/14a) has posted at least one point in 12 of the
Huskiesı last 13 games...Nate DiCasmirro scored for the first time since
Oct. 28 (vs. Devner) during SCSU's win over Brown on Jan. 19.  He now has
three goals this season and eight assists...Keith Anderson (4g/10a) snapped
an 11-game goal scoring drought on Jan. 19 with his goal vs. Brown.  The
last time Anderson hit the net, he scored against non-conference rival NEU
on Nov. 24.  Anderson now has 10 assists and four goals this season.  He
also had a goal on Jan. 20...Mark Haritgan (16g/12a) scored his 16th goal of
the season on Jan. 19, a team high...SCSU goalie Jake Moreland, who replaced
Scott Meyer midway through the game on Jan. 20, gained his third victory of
the season.  He is now 3-1-0.  Moreland's last decision was a 4-3 win over
UAA on Dec. 16...Tyler Arnason (13g/12a) had a nine-game scoring streak
snapped on Jan. 19.  He bounced back on Jan. 20, with a goal and two
assists...Brandon Sampair (5g/21a) now owns a nine-game scoring streak
dating back to Dec. 9.  He had two assists vs. Brown...Sophomore Derek
Eastman continues to produce big number this year on defense and leads the
team with a +17 in the plus/minus category.  He has also been a threat on
offense with five goals and seven assists.SCSU is now 3-0 in action against
Brown...Craig Dahl needs one more wins to move his all-time career mark to
the .500 level.  Dahl currently owns a 324-325-40 mark in 20-years of
coaching at the college level...as of Jan. 15, SCSU ranks first in the WCHA
with a 2.38 goals allowed average and third with 3.69 goals scored
average...Scott Meyer ranks second in the WCHA with a .928 save % and third
with 2.15 GAA (WCHA games only)...Mark Hartigan ranks 7th in the league with
1.38 ppg (13g/9a) and Brandon Sampair (3g/17a) is 9th...Sampair has jumped
to 3rd in the league with 15 assists (1.13 apg), while Hartigan is 3rd in
the league with 0.81 goals per game (13 goals)...a total of five players
have played in every game this season for the Huskies (Jeff Finger, Jon
Cullen, Tyler Arnason, Joe Motzko and Keith Anderson)... Cullen and Motzko
lead the team with three GWG this season... Hartigan leads the team with
seven power play goals, while Arnason, Derek Eastman and Cullen have a
team-leading two SHGs apiece...in the shot race, both Haritgan and Arnason
are now tied with 84 SOGs this season ...SCSU has seven SHGs this season,
while the team record of 14 was set in 1993-94...the Huskies are 16-0 when
they lead going into the third period and 18-0 when they lead or are tied
going into the third period.

BIG CROWDS: 123,504 people attended SCSU home games in 1999-2000, an average
of 5,881 per game...in home games this season, SCSU has an attendance total
of 81,347 for an average of 5,810 per game...On Nov. 17, SCSU was at
capacity for the first time in 2000-01 with a crowd of 6,685.
