Olympic Star Named to Women's Hockey Post
Mankato, Minn. Ñ Women's hockey coach Todd Carroll has announced that Alana Blahoski, a member of the 1998 U.S. Olympic women's gold-medalist hockey team, has accepted a graduate assistant coaching position with Mankato State University.
Blahoski is a 1996 graduate of Providence College where she co-captained the Friars as a senior and was named the 1995-96 Eastern College Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year. The St. Paul, Minn., native finished her collegiate career with 83 points on 35 goals and 48 assists in 121 games and was a member of the ECAC All-Tournament Team in 1995. The St. Paul Johnson High School product also was a member of the Providence College softball team.
Mankato State begins its first season of varsity hockey for women this fall.
